Lech.
Gorgeous hotels, varied skiing and then, for a change, get the bus to St Anton down the road.
I've also racked up a few trips to Les Coches and Tignes-l-B as (esp after all those Lech trips) mountainsun's prices are just too good to ignore

Why go somewhere twice? How dull. There are not enough weeks off before I die to visit everywhere I want to go. I do seem to have been to La Plagne far too often though.

The mountains. Don't matter where, just a hill, some snow and a lift or two.

The more you visit a ski area the more you get out of it. Just spending a week in a resort means you're never going to find the best bits.

I love that place too, skied there a week I think 2005. Hotel Compagnoni. V low key, friendly people, nice snow. Recall a v rustic refuigio mid-mountain, serving pasta al ragu di cervo (or something like that) aka pasta with bamby stew cooked for 3 days; bloody good. Happy days.

Samoens and Les Carroz... Just love the GM as it is so varied and has the mix of good altitude in Flaine and amazing tree lined runs throughout Morillon and Les Carroz...
The creperie in Les Carroz is simply amazing and my visits have rewarded me with a really good buddy now. The owner of a B&B that I first stayed in...

Les Saisies, Notre Dame-de-Bellcombe and Praz sur-Arly. Beautiful area, nice locals, generally excellent snowcover (saisies) and prices which dont make you spit your coffee out (though they are creeping up each year we've been there)

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

We've have been to a few of the bigger French areas, 3V and PdS, but have been to Pila in Italy a few times now and will probably go back. Really like it there, don't know why, just feels 'nice'. Still have a lingering feeling in the back of my mind that its too small and therefore I should'nt though!

Tignes - especially the well-know early season cheap trip. Not going this year but definitely next year.
Zermatt a few times too.

I always used to do the French mega resorts until I discovered Italy on a Snowheads bash, have been back 3 times since and have another 2 trips planned next year. Second trip is a bit of a tour 3 days Zoldo Alto, 2 days Cortina, 3 days Corvara, 3 days Kronplantz, all of which I have never skied apart from Covara.
Doubt I will ever ski France again, unless it is last minute cheap deal. But do need to try Austria.

Les Gets and Courchevel have had much custom from me over the last few years. I've developed a particular soft-spot for the PdS, though. Family skiiing and all that.

This. A thousand times this. In a decent resort, the second visit is always better than the first. And the the third is always better than the second.
