Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just heard from my son, the snow level in La Rosiere is down to 2,000m so almost at village level already.

Best snow on upper slopes. Pisteurs working superbly. Marmottes hibernating.

That's pretty good considering where the snowline is in Tignes (guessing about 2400ish from looking at the webcams).

What's wrong with the conditions on 29 June?

Best snow on upper slopes, as per our usual guidance.

Frosty the Snowman,

That bloody annoys me so much. Passo Tonale (Our chosen destination this year). has its cam stuck on 6th October 2005, a very snowey picture, but no doubt alot of it has melted. At least nearby Livigno is honest and gives a daily update.

Yes, sadly a lot of it has almost certainly melted. This webcam at Plan Maison above Cervinia (altitude of lift in view about 2600m-2800m, from memory) is rarely switched off:

The snow in view is the last remnants of the recent storm, which put about 50cm on those slopes.

If only Cervinia had a few good old Scottish fences they'd be on a wide cover of new snow on firm base there rolling eyes

But here's the snowier scene just across the border - the Schwarzsee cam at 2583m. Less sunny (N/E facing, I think):

rob@rar.org.uk, you'll see that we often get different weather than the rest of the Tarentaise, something to do with the proximity to Mont Blanc.

David@traxvax, just to satisfy my curiosity, is that La Rosiere across the valley on the far right of [http://resortclub.arc1950.com/scripts/webphoto.php?lg=gb&ete=0&date=1128947096]this[/url] picture looking down from just above Arc 1950 - I've always wondered when skiing at Les Arcs.

edited to change URL as it has changed on the arc1950 site

Frosty the Snowman, I'll use my (non) influence - and see what I can do Sad Sad

More realistically, I may have some better ones from my trips to Les Arcs - will dig them out but not sure there will be any more La Rosiere in those - the space occupied by the buildings in their pic will probably be filled with an inanely smiling me or Mrs Bungle NehNeh NehNeh
