Poster: A snowHead

I have the opportunity of a trip to St Johann on 16th December when the resort opens for business. Is it likely that there will be decent snow or is it too soon and too low?

Nice pretty town, not a massive amount of runs
It might be a little low, but hopefully you will be in luck
If poor snow
You lift pass covers you for other resorts, Kirchberg and Kithbuel are 15-20 mins by train, the train fare is covered in the pass,
There are lockers for walking shoes in the stations, if you decide to walk to station and leave your shoes there
The Kithbuhel station is v near ski lifts, St johnan, depends where you are staying, might be a taxi ride, about 5 euro
We trained it from Kirchberg to St Johan, carried our ski boots is boot bag, wore shoes, and deposited these in station for day

Usually you could hope for snow by the middle of December. Last year it was very warm up till the beginning of the month but then the snow arrived around the 8th and places opened up. This year a (very) few lifts in Kitzbühel have opened already (at weekends - see my report). But I can't really say how this year will develop.
