Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Car rental facilities at Grenoble airport?

Anyone hired a car at Grenoble airport? How many rental companies are based there? Are there any restrictions (eg closed on Sundays like at Chambery)?

rob@rar.org.uk, I believe there are car hire operators there but the airport is only open from 13.00 hrs to 16.00 hrs daily, so it sounds asif there are only a few flights.

Rob, look @ www.car-hire-booking.co.uk (sorry can`t do hyperlinks). They cover for National, Europcar, Alamo & various others at Grenoble.

Not sure what the opening hours are - call them on 0870 9000 533 - they can probably answer your specific queries.

We booked through Easyjet a month ago. They used Europcar who seemed fine. Nice quiet airport. Picked up the car in 5 mins. It was parked 100 m from the terminal.

rob@rar.org.uk, the website lists four local car hire operators with their telephone numbers.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

rob@rar.org.uk, Yes we always use Grenoble if flying from Stansted, and I think BA are going to start flying there from Gatwick this winter. There are about four or five rental firms, and their desks are all in the terminal building, about 60 feet from the baggage reclaim! Like beetle says, the cars are parked right outside the terminal.
If there's a flight, the desks are open. The airport spends most of the day asleep but suddenly starts bustling when the Easyjet's coming in. It's a real pleasure to fly to/from Grenoble - beats Lyon hands down. Try www.carbookers.co.uk or www.ebookers.co.uk and look for the link if that doesn't work. They'll do you a cheaper price than the hire firms direct, I've found. Like beetle, we used europcar. It was simple and quick. Generally, if you book over the net and it accepts your request, the desk will be open for you. Smile

paulmck, Thanks for that feedback. I might try Grenoble this season.

I hope so, although I think at least one snowHead has had a different experience at Chambery (booked via a broker rather than direct with the rental company.
