Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Les Gets - any free beginners lifts?

 Poster: A snowHead

Hi all- was wondering if there are any free beginners lifts in Les Gets? Perhaps at the bottom of Chavannes next to the village, or at the top of the Gondola?

6 of us are heading out for a week at the end of January- most can ski at various abilities but thinking of starting the week snowboarding which we are all newbies at Toofy Grin Thinking it might be best to get a pass for the full 8 days anyway as probably easier to use the gondola that make a fool of ourselves on the button lifts...

Looking to book up lift passes as it's 20% off at the moment on the Les Gets site!

calgary365, yes, the moving walkway lifts at the top of the gondola are free, but really are just for beginners, ie 30 yard slides and you're back at the bottom. But anyway, your main question is how do you get to the top of the gondola to use them. If you're taking a car you can drive up to Les Chavannes, otherwise you'd need to buy lift passes anyway.
