Well the first run decimated my picks! About half the top 20 placed racers had start numbers in the 30s or higher! The wind across the flat upper section really caused major problems to all the early racers but dropped off for the later runners.
Alex Tilley the British girl was a DNF sadly

Hmmm. If I read it correctly, I'm down to 3 remaining in the top 10. Still it's not over till it's all over.
edit: and the overall scoring is based on best 5 races? so a c**p score for one race effectively gets discarded eventually. i think.

What is happening with the French girls?
The French men & girls have been training on the Tignes glacier on an area specifically designed to be like Levi! Hopefully the men will do better tomorrow/

Correction - I did allow for a team of 9 but picked up a wrong figure - I can now agree the 26.296

stewart woodward, The best start number was 24 I think and the wind was at its worse then. A real uphill struggle in every sense for them. The men should be better tomorrow

How re we ll doing today? I've lost one of my picks - Myhrer having an uncharacteristically awful run. Other than that all mine are safely in the second run mix, although realistically I reckon only 6 or 7 may make it into the final top 10 Gutted I switch Kostelic and Raich out of the mix again today. They both seem very hungry for results and skiing better than last season, I may to regret that rush of blood this morning

4 with one exact in the end! Should have stuck with Benni and Ivica, they are both really in form and chasing all the youngsters (as well as leading many as well!)
I wonder if anyone had picked Kristoffersen? With a start number of 20 he certainly had the form even if he is not so well-known!
Really happy to see Jean-Baptiste Grange and Julian Lizeroux back in the top flight again - love JuJu's sense of fun and we need someone to take over Rainer Schonfelder's mantle to inject some humour into the proceedings

19+24pts I think. Another joint lowest score. Bit of a gamble for the next races with some non-top-30 hoping for bonus points. Bash next week means not being around to do some proper picks, so expecting about 4/10 for those too.
edit: and a 22.25 +33.5 (ranked 29th apparently) for today's races. fractionally better, and moved back up from 12th to 6th (out of about 20 with actual scores) in Germany. Still could do better - sure I was getting 7 of 10 and better last yr.

Picks for the coming weekend - the guys are having some problems getting in the practice on the the Birds of Prey course! Fingers crossed for today's scheduled run.
With the ladies, it is extremely cold, apparently -30 but not sure in which "money" that was! But they only need to get into a good tuck for the downhill and stay there, probably one of the easiest course on the circuit!
