Jansrud is definitely not skiing at Sölden in case any of you had him among your picks for Sunday. The Norwegian men racing are: Svindal, Kilde, Kristoffersen and Haugen - Kristofferson may be worth a punt as he is quite an exciting up and coming young racer.
The Norwegian Ladies for Saturday are: Sejersted, Nina Løseth, Ragnhild Mowinckel and Mona Løseth.

I couldn't get FSR to save my picks yesterday... So just off to try again, but perhaps it might not be possible from work this season and i might have to make time to do it tonight at home... i'm finding it hard to make the first race choice not having any recent images or stats to base my selection on....
But looking forward to watching the racing again...

Can you let me know if this is still the situation WayneC - what browser/OS are you working on where you are having difficulties? I can get on to FSR on everything thing except my iPad - so a pain when we have mid-weeks and I'm on the road but hey are working on a smartphone/ipad/iphone app apparently.

Hi Sue ... a bit of pain but got it sorted...
at work I have to use Windows7 with IE8 but we can't enable java.... At home I have a windows7homepremium laptop with IE9 32 and 64 bit versions and a Ipad1... and all failed to work properly...
At work I could select but not save... My iPad, like yours, won't work at all... The laptop with IE9 64 bit doesn't have the selection grid whereas the 32bit ver has only one column and lets me select and save only the first five racers...
However... an old version of Opera 10.51 works fine... so I've made a quick selection and hopefully will be able to improve them tomorrow when we get the start lists.

WayneC, I'll copy your message to Michael Nyman - he seems to appreciate any feedback we can provide as it helps the programmers isolate the problems! My iPad is a series 2 but I'm still using iOS 5 I think as I did not want to lose the Google maps facility. I know things are better now, but I'm very wary of upgrading just for the sake of it! For what I do on the iPad, it works well!
Did you use Opera on the iPad by the way?

The new season is looking good -
I like the new fis-ski.com site - clear and easier to use
The FSR site appears to be working better earlier than last year
I didn't have to change any of my first race picks because they are all starting
Now if I can just work out the team scores and league table........

andy, the men's list will go up straight after the bib draw this evening so take look at around 19.00 to be sure (Bib draw is at 18.30)
I'm setting off for Sölden in about 30 minutes and hoping the bloody Tirol Fuzz have not got the damned IG-L 100 speed limit switched on! going to be very warm according to the forecast so the second run could be a lottery unless there are big time differences between the first starters and the leaders from the first run. The run into the Finish area will be mushy and the course is not iced so it will be rutted down the Ice Box! fingers crossed for our picks

OK I just had a look and was pleasantly surprised - 33.5 point (6 selected in the top 10, with 1 exact - thank you Anna Fenninger). 72nd place over all
The team is in 6th place with 49.733 points, so some of you did better than you think! I think some of the other stats are a bit wonky though - left overs from last season maybe?
Let's see how tomorrow comes out!

Hence the stats for all the country leader boards (etc.) are wrong.

Strangeandy, codyaitch, that's weird as they have the new name not the old one! Let's see how today pans out - I've gone for the old boys so I may be a wee bit out based on yesterday's results! Sentiment may not be so strong later on in the season! Rainer Schönfelder is retiring after today's race by the way apparently - be interesting to see if he does anything "interesting" as he is always a bit of a joker!

We're in 5th place ...
6/10 ladies but miserable 4/10 men and none exact for me... Tina, Maria, Bode and Bennie all let me down this week... I'm sure we'll improve when get a feel for how they're performing...

Crappy women race for me (15.0) but not all that bad for men race (59.0). And all that without much of insiders info considering I did my picks almost 2 weeks ago and forgot about all this after that.

As far as I know all the major players are still in the running! A couple of accidents have taken out a couple of the newbies - I remember there is one torn ALC (end of season) and a couple of twists aches and strains, but none of the serious contenders just yet.
If you are on Farcebook codyaitch, the take a peek at a group called Ski World Cup Discussion Group (I "own" it for want of a better description) - lots of people from all over the globe contributing and all the mods have at least 2 major European languages, a couple have more. No need for google translate most of the time! We are pretty quick in getting the news of an injuries, change of kit, sponsors, etc up on the News Feed.

Anyone thinking of changing their picks there is a good summary by Greg Needell that has just been posted on my Group page, plus the start lists are available. Maria Höfl-Reisch drew bib 14 so she sees what all the others are doing before she starts, she has a fairly consisten record on this hill by the way. Worth a place if nothing else.
Natasha Noens is the first of the French racers and she has been known to upset the apple cart and get in the top 10 despite having a rather low start number - she goes at 24 in the first run tomorrow. Forecast is looking good, nice and cold so that means the piste should hold up well.
I'm hoping that the 2 Brits at least qualify for the second run in their races. Dave Ryding should, not so sure about Alex though - her start number is up in the 70s so maybe just improving her position by 20 places is her objective.
