ise, Great scenery, and beautiful autumn colours, the fog looked pretty miserable though. What were the daytime temperatures?

This weekend, 10' at 2000m I think, warm enough to sit outside at the Hornberg and have some lunch. A couple of weeks back, 0' at the same height and it snowed later.

It's been pretty warm in the French Alps too, I've been watching the snowline climb rapidly back up the mountain these past few days...

Cathy Coins, Think the Southern part of France had it all last week; unfortunately (?) the temperatures have climbed back up to the mid-late twenties . I suppose we should all be grateful
Mind you it does look as if some snow was left around the highest alps and Tignes seems to have a nice base? For the rest though ( at least the south-facing slopes that I can see) the snowline retreated faster up the mountains than I've ever known !
