Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Don't know the resort but this is a way to ski Verbier from a cheaper base. Nendaz has the less exciting end of the skiing.

boo22, Great place for accessing 4V, BUT has a dodgy link over to Siviez if snow is poor cover, then you are on the bus, otherwise its fine and the runs over to Siviez are brill - despite what I said re the link I reckon you'll be OK at New Year, just late season can be bad. Try get in at Les Etagnes, great place, best apres and owned by laid back young Dutch couple hotel right next to main lift station (ask for Onno). Great food there and apres, best prawns I've ever had in a ski resort. Dont know where you are coming from but suggest fly into Geneva, train to Sion and locla poste bus up. Go for it, some other good bars and restaurants.

boo22, I stayed in Nendaz over half term a few years ago but drove out. As already said the link from Nendaz to Siviez can be a problem. We skied it on the first day and it was a lot of mud and grass in the lower links, so we didn't do it again. Having a car it was easy for us to drive up to Siviez and it was free parking right near the lifts if you get there just before the lifts open. We could be up and skiing above Verbier more quickly than those getting the lift up from Verbier and indeed we met the SCGB rep a few times and had a good warm up ski before any of their group had strapped their skis on.

In these circumstances, it worked very well for us, but if you are relying on the Bus from Nendaz to Siviez the queues were horrendous. Bear in mind though that this was February half term and the skiing link between the two was poor. If you have beginners then they will probably learn on the slopes above Nendaz which is reached via a gondola from the village and the links won't be a problem for them.

There were a few bars and restaurants which kept us happy for a week and they are generally cheaper that Verbier.
