Poster: A snowHead
|
Hello everyone,
I'm currently spending time in France and am hoping to get a season in this winter. I was told earlier today about these job fairs in Rhone Alps from the 15th-18th of October, specifically the one in Albertville was recommended as having a heap of jobs.
Does anyone know anything about these events, e.g. what kind of jobs are available, where these jobs are based, and if any of the job fairs are especially essential to go to????
Here are the links to the pages:
Rhone Alps: http://www.1semainepour1emploi.fr/
Albertville: http://www.prao.org/outils/agenda/forum-de-la-saisonnalite-albertville-le-18-10-2012--50498.kjsp?RH=PRO
Any info would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks
Harri

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The forum is very well attended and there are all types of jobs on offer in hotels, restaurants, bars, etc. Essential to bring an up to date CV (in French). The majority of the jobs are in the Tarentaise (Albertville - Val d'Isere). The good thing you would be on a French employment contract; so proper pay and conditions!
In summary, well worth going to.

They have one in Bourg d'Oisans as well, jobs in 2Alpes/Alpe d'Huez. Recruiters are resort hotels, restaurants, bars, shops, lift companies. Most jobs are catering/hospitality related, but there are others as welll - lifty, ticket sales, ambulance driver, municipal police, shelf stackers, pizza delivery. Some employers will offer jobs on the spot, others might arrange second interviews later. Go with CVs and be prepared to be interviewed. In French. If you're serious about getting a resort job, the salons are a must.
