Hoping to be able to get a family lift pass for Espace Killy for myself,my husband , 16 yr old son and 19 yr old daughter.

Boredsurfing, Espace Killy allows students up to 21 to claim family discount.
dodgy knees, your daughter will need an official student ID with the name of her uni/college and current date. If you want to be sure, get her to apply for an ISIC (details here - http://www.isic.org ). It will be accepted without question, and she'll get a load of otehr discounts as well.

dodgy knees, You may be ok. Why not give them a call? Their web site states:-
"Family discount: This offer is only available for a families of at least 2 adults and 2 children under 18 years (or students under 22 years - proof required) when both adults purchase a 6 or 7 day Espace Killy pass"
Do the student cards have photo ID on them?

If in doubt, it's always good when applying for the NUS extra card to get the little ISIC logo on it - it's only £2.00 extra. I haven't this year which may prove to be a duff choice, but hopefully I'm good enough at persuasion to get away with just my NUS card and Uni library card (also photo ID for me, though I keep attempting to use it in town, d'oh)

RibenaRockstar, you can get a separate ISIC, see link above.

Another point to mention is that she keeps it with her all the time whilst skiing. I was teaching a girl in Saalbach last season who had a childs discount on her pass, she'd proved this when she bought it with a passport, but understandably the mother had then taken the passport back to look after. At one point when she was trying to get up the lift, the lifty must have seen her pass flash up on the screen, and came out as he didn't believe she was a child, and refused to let her up (was being an absolute dick). In the end I had to call her mother, who had to leave her own class to go back to the hotel and bring the passport to us.

Doubt the NUS card will be accepted if she didn't take the ISIC on it so pest to get a separate one.

It might also depend how officious the person is feeling and what university her current ID says - if it's LSE or Oxford, for example, the person will probably have heard of it and therefore be more likely to accept it than De Montfort, which they might not have heard of (really cool name though)

RibenaRockstar, don't be silly. You really think the average pass controller can list the 'top' universities in every european country?
They look for a photo, a valid date and a word which looks more or less like 'university' 'school' or 'college'. If you have an ISIC they'll glance at the photo but not a lot else as they'll recognise the card straight off.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

No, but if it's a form of ID they don't recognise (like my using my uni library card in my hometown) then they will look for other stuff on it. If it's a uni they've actually heard of (like I've heard of the Sorbonne, for example) then they might be more willing to accept it.

When my kids were at uni, their NUS card was perfectly acceptable, although I did get an ISIC card for one of them when they were in 6th form. Most lift pass companies are used to seeing foreign ID all the time.
