After a couple of year of threatening to organise a Beeper practice session for the West Mids \ Shropshire area, this year I'm finally getting around to it.
The 'plan' is to meet one Sunday in November at the Telford Ski Slope for an informal beeper practice. The slope management have kindly agreed to give us the use of the hut and will *maybe* allow some slope time.
The wooded area behind the slope should give us good ground and leaf litter to hind the beepers in.
The exact date is still to be confirmed but if you are interested please let me know. I've set up a Facebook group should that be more convenient and will also post confirmed dates there.

Telford is only just over an hour from Darkest Derbyshire so I'm keen to go to this rather than Richmond Park. Do I need to sign up anywhere or just turn up on 4th Nov?

Hey, something actually happening in Shropshire, count me in. It'll be good to meet some snowheads in person not just virtually. I've not got one myself as I'm only just starting to venture off piste, will there be spares around or will I just be looking over someones shoulder, don't mind either way.

I'm just back from Snowdon having done a weekend navigation refresher & some beeper practice. We were doing some multiple burial practice which was good- it would be nice to try and fit some in on the Sunday.

Tomorrow 
11am, Telford ski and snowboard center. Meet in the 'lodge', the first wooden building you come to from the car park.
The idea is to use the woods behind the slope to give some cover for the practice, so it could be a bit muddy in places.
According to http://www.mountain-forecast.com/peaks/The-Wrekin/forecasts/407 there's 8cm of snow forecast on the hill only a few miles away from the slope !
