Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Doing a season (Well, a question concerning it)

Hi,

Having just finished university, I'm tempted to do a ski season - standard story really. However, my chief concern is that I have a Malaysian passport, with British Right of Abode (my father is English) and a full NI number. Does anybody in the know, know if that's ok?

Cheers,

Jonny

If you have a right to work in the UK and get on a UK contract with a TO then there should be no problem.

If your dad is English can you not get a UK passport as well? Might save any hassle if you can!

As far as I'm aware, providing you have a National Insurance Number, UK Bank account and a valid passport then you will be eligible to work for a Tour Operator. Smile

I'm just about to go out to do my first ski season this winter as a ski rep - can't wait!

Hi,

For us to employ we need employees to have a NI number and have worked in the UK for a period of time so that they have paid some NI already and have a UK bank account... and possibly a working visa for some countries.. we have a Pole and Aussie working for us this coming season (sorry we have a complete team now). The only difficult party is the insurance as some UK insurance companies will only insure UK residents so this maybe something you will need to have a look at.

Best of luck with finding a job.

You'll need to Register first of course.

When we interview for seasonal jobs we insist that they have a EU passport as we know they can work, but others can't without a visa.

I'm not sure if this is right so you'd better ask the London embasy of the country you're intending to in

Hi,

Sorry about the delayed response, had an internet bug up. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to have a dual passport otherwise I would have been on that ages ago! I've paid NI in the past and have a couple of bank accounts. I also qualified for a student loan, so that counts for something I assume! I'll just have to contact each individual TO separately and ask them.
Cheers for all the responses,

Jonny
