Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Anyone up for Japan, late Jan 2013

I'm going to Niesko in late January-early February, staying in s/c accommodation, for 7 days skiing in what by all accounts is wonderful powder...anyone interested in coming along plse get in touch.

As yet full details tbc, will post these here as they become clear, likely to be flying out of London on 26th Jan. There will be instruction/guiding available for those who need it, from the Inside-out guys, which as a relative newcomer to off-piste I'll be signing up to. Would be good to have others along to dig me out of the deeper stuff!

Same here! I just prepared this post today...does it fit with yr plans?

Fly to Tokyo, Japan, 22nd Jan with Virgin Atlanic from LHR, return 8th Feb. Cost economy 563GBP. I have already booked my seat this week. This timing avoids most of Aussie school hols and Chinese New Year.
Skiing two resorts, Myoko Kogen on Honshu island 3 or 4 days (highly rated by aussie skiers)
and Niseko, Hokkaido (6 days) Also seeing the Snowmonkeys of Nagano, bullet train travel and a few days stay in Tokyo.
I’ve never been to Japan before and may never go again so I’m doing all the things I want to see in one trip.
Projected cost for 16 days 2200GBP to 2400GBP (LHR-NAR rtn, train, ferry travel, hostels, ski passes, food and drink at 20GBP/day)… this cost will be spread out over 4 months.

Please send a PM if interested, I will start looking at booking accommodation in early Oct.

hi dbeatski, that sounds pretty close to the plan, yep. think we are expecting to arrive 27th Jan (accommodation in a self-catering complex in Niesko), and I am also planning to stay on in Japan for another week or two to see something other than deep snow snowHead

Will PM you to talk some more offline.

MelanieKate, as per above would be great to know more. Originally I was thinking of heading off to somewhere else post skiing but seems nuts to eff off from Japan when there is so much to see. Quite fancy a bit of city stuff, and a bit of country stuff too, although not sure what weather will be like at that time of year in southern parts of Japan. What would you recommend as your top tips?

hi steveburles, maybe catch up there - sounds like there could be a snowHead posse out there then Smile
