Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

wot Sideways said + the cost relative to scrap steel + the need.

Ally is great for certain things but none of these really apply here. There is no need to get the weight saving as there is no transport or ground loading requirement and oxidisation is not an issue. Also you have to get the correct thickness to prevent flex and it don't come cheap/commonly available. In theory you could make a ski press out of aluminium but why bother? If however there was suitable ally sections freely available I would jump at the chance and bolt it together with reinforcing plates rather than weld it

My cunning, cunning plan is still afoot but being thwarted by work pressure and the continuing inability of the scrap metal community to operate email. I will have to resort to telephone.

And thanks for the front page bump.

tomb - what are you up to???

Hi guys,

Happy New Year and all that! I have just completed my work contract so I now have some free time available...about 3 months. If anyone fancies meeting up between now and the end of the ski season to see if we can progress this further just let me know.
