Evening all,
Just wanted to know what major differences there are between training wax and race wax apart from the price.
Thanks,

Fluorocarbon's quantity, quality and content normally. Different compounds used for race wax v recreational wax, that and some suckers will buy anything!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

briand6868, In my view, unless you have two pairs of race skis for each discipline there isn't much difference, whatever you put on will get mostly worn off during course inspection and warmup runs.
What wax do you normally use ?

What type of races are you doing? I wouldn't waste your money on race wax I'd put it towards spending more time on snow.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

rjs, 4matt wax for dryslope and various temps of Toko training wax for snow.

For dryslope you just want something hard like a swix ch6 or ch4, your fooling yourself if you think something with fluorocarbon is going to make a difference on plastic.

briand6868, The Toko stuff should be fine.
I think you will find that sharp edges are more important than wax.

Dec, 4matt is specially made for plastic slope stuff, fluoro will be only used on snow - I do know a little bit about tuning but I sometimes like to find out if there's anything else I should know
