Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Skiing with a 13 month old - all in one or two piece kit?

 Poster: A snowHead

We're braving La Tania with our little boy who will be 13 months old at the time of travel. What's the best option for him snow gear wise would you say, an all in one suit or a two piece jacket and trousers (fishing style with a joined on body piece)? It will be more for moving around from a to b, playing in the snow, sledging etc.

Any suggestions welcomed as we're looking to try and pick up a bargain before all the sales finish - cheers Smile

At that age I'd go for a one piece and some decent mittens.

Get at least 2 pairs of gloves too so that one set can be drying whilst he's wearing the others. Nothing worse than kids with cold hands.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Agree with one piece. At that age it's not like he'll need a dash to the loo! All in one will stop any snow getting in while rolling around!
The first time we went skiing with my son he was 11 1/2 months and not yet walking so we had something like these for his feet:

Rather than buy an all-in-one snowsuit we bought an all-in-one waterproof. That way we could put lots of layers of "normal" clothes on him and then put the waterproof over the top. When we went into a mountain cafe we could take the waterproof off and and take off layers if required rather than him being in one extremely warm outfit and nothing else.

We had a one piece for our little fella - and 4 pairs of mittens - 2 pairs of ski mittens and 2 pairs of normal woolly types - he wore the woolly ones underneath the ski mits - worked really well, never got cold/wet right to the inside that way!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
