Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Any experience or opinions on Millet clothing?

I'm curious if anyone has any experiences, or opinions, on Millet outerwear, ... specifically the pants, jackets and base layers suitable for skiing.

I've recently seen their gear in a few stores, and it got me interested.

Thanks in advance!

I'm assuming you mean Millet, the French brand rather than Millets the cheapo British outdoor retailer.

I have had a pair of Millet goretex trousers for a number of years. Absolutely bomb proof, with good features. See quite a lot of French guides using their gear which seems like a good sign for durability and practicality.

Have recently bought a pair of their paclite goretex trousers for touring and other lightweight use. I obsessed (sad, I know) over this purchase for a long time and Millet offered the best solution IMO.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Yes, the full name is "Millet France" I believe, their website is www.millet.fr.

Never heard of "Millets" (the British outdoor retailer), and your one sentence description likely explains why.

Fall Line Fanatic,

Good mountain kit that the French wear, up there with the top level of mountain clothing. If the French guides wear them...and they do...then they wouldn't want to make compromises where they go..!!

I bought a pair of goretex schoeller ski pants at least 6-7 years ago from Wilderness house in Boston. WH went out of business 3-4 years ago and I thought so did Millet. I tried to find them on line but was unsuccessful until today. It is Millet france and from my one Millet purchase and experience, these have been The ULTIMATE VERY BEST pair of pants ever!! Totally waterproof, windproof, stretch fabric fits and feels great and just now after years of 50+ski days per year are they showing a little wear. My advise: if they fit, buy it!

Might be 7 years old but their kit is still top quality. Tried on a few of their bits and pieces but couldn't justify the cost!
