Poster: A snowHead
|
Snowheads, last year a group of us used the Ryanair Dublin to Grenoble flight, which was great value and very convenient. Does anyone know if Ryanair has removed this route as it is no longer available on their website. There appears to be a distinct lack of value flights from Belfast or Dublin for this upcoming season, making the usual DIY trip a no-goer at present. Any help would be appreciated. Been following the site for years but this is my first post btw.

alanmcdaid, Don't think Ryanair have their winter timetable up yet if Grenoble is a winter only route, probably early September but keep an eye on their site daily just in case.

Hmm, Grenoble airport don’t list Ryanair as one of the operators, so they may have stopped operating to there.
I can’t actually spot any airline flying there from Ireland. Are Chambery or Geneva acceptable options? You can certainly fly Aer Lingus Dublin to Geneva, or Easyjet Belfast to Geneva (winter only). Maybe not quite as cheap basic fares as Ryanair, but you’re not stung quite so badly on the other charges… Both of those have flights on sale now.
Of course it might be no one is listing the winter timetable to Grenoble yet, and it’s all fine in a few months.

Thanks for the replies guys, I think I'll just have to wait to see if Ryanair are still operating there, raging becasue I love the anticipation of booking a ski holiday.
Aer Lingus run flights to Lyon from Dublin which are decent value at the minute, albeit still c£100 dearer than our flights last year. Flights from Belfast and Dublin to Geneva are very expensive at the minute unfortunatley. We're most likely going to Les Deux Alpes after a great trip there last year, so Grenoble was ideal for us.
Fingers crossed Ryanair will come up trumps, any updates would be greatly appreciated.

Consider Dub Geneva for Chamonix (90 mins) / Avoriaz (90 mins) / 3 Valleys (2 and half hours), Dub Zurich for St Anton / Ischgl (2 and half hours)
Also Engelberg and Verbier are reasonably close to one of those airports but can't remember which
I just booked flights over Paddy's day for 160 return including bag and taxes charges etc Aer Lingus Dub Zurich.
I would pay anything not to fly Ryanair anyway.
Not sure about Belfast but thought they at least had weekly charters to Chambery Sat - Sat.
Roll on the snow!!

Just checked the Grenoble website and the interactive destination map shows DUB to GNB with Ryanair from December. This map appears to be relatively up to date as the new flights for next season from Leeds (Jet2 and Monarch) are displayed. I have also asked on a professional aviation forum to see if anyone has any gen for you.
