Do you really want to stay in Brides?
You'd be better off looking in Meribel, La Tania etc.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Pedantica, yes it was a nice hotel. Apparently breakfast is more substantial during the ski season too, and the menu in the evenings is geared more to skiers than slimmers.

I have stayed in Bride-Les-Bains more than a dozen times with at least six of those visits staying in hotels (but only on a room and breakfast basis).
Brides-Les-Bains has a year round visitor season so is well served with hotels for a town of its size.
Many of its visistors in Spring and Summer are there for dieting reasons and with their visit being partly funded by the French Health Service, so many of the hotels are of the cheaper two and three star variety.
The best of the hotels I stayed in was the Amelie. I would guess that the best hotel in Brides Les Bains is the Grand Hotel Des Thermes, but I have never stayed there.
La Petite Auberge and Le Centre are both popular bars and restaurants with rooms above, which could provide half-board. Whilst I have eaten in both, I have not tried their rooms. They are both only a 150m walk (uphill!) from the lift into Meribel.

I was just going to say, watch out for the incomming regarding your choice of Brides - too late!

Enough to say we have stayed there many times and this still remains our first choice when visiting the 3V. In particular we stay at the Hotel des Sources. It's a short trek in boots to he lift but there's usually a free minibus available - driven by Mr Borello himself. The rooms are good and clean and the food and service are truly fantastic. That's why we keep going back. Mrs A has also stayed in the Athena (which is nearer the lift) but she prefers the Sources:
