Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Schruns/ Montafon

We're going to be stopping off there for a couple of days late December after a week in Arlberg, looking for some good off piste routes and a bit of a reccy trip for future years, have heard good things about the area. Going to base ourselves in Dornbirn (cant get accom for just 2 nights in Montafon area), and travel up on train.

Has anyone any experience of Montafon and tips/ must do routes in the area? Cheers

Here's a wierd thing - booked our hotel in Dornbirn for 2 night stay and then decided to check list pass prices, and Montafon only appear to do 3 day ski passes or longer!

Anyone with local intel know if its possible to purchase 2 day passes?

Markymark29, They probably don't dick around with internet prices for day passes. I'd be intensely relaxed abott it.

I don't think you can buy Montafon Pass for just a short time (i.e. total area passes) I remember having to buy day passes according to which area I was skiing in. The Silvretta Nova pass was 60 something Euro for 2 days.

The Montafon Card pass allows you to ski cross-border in Montafon, Bludenz, Klostertal, Brandnertal and See, Kappl Ischgl/Samnaun (Switzerland) and Galtür. They also give discounts on day passes in a couple of Italian resorts. You will never be able to cover that lot in a couple of days which is why they probably don't offer it! For once it seems that the lift company is not trying to sell you something you cannot hope to use to its full extent!

We've bought day tickets for a couple of the Montafon areas while en route to/from other areas - namely:
- Schruns, which was excellent (great snow, great weather and a wacky apres ski bus (rustic, with wood nailed on....) at the bottom of one of the valley chair lifts).
- Golm, which wasn't such a good day as we didn't see a thing all day due to dense fog. Was still an enjoyable enough area though, with decent snow.

Didn't ski off piste at any of the areas so, sorry, not much help there.
