Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi
I was wondering if anybody could help me.
I'm looking for some statistics on the number of visits made to ski resorts each season and ski resort growth in terms of traffic. I'm especially interested in France and Austria. I have googled it but the information available is fairly limited. If anybody can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

The most likely source for such data across different countries is probably Patrick Thorne. You can contact him through www.snow24.com - but you'll probably have to pay for the data.

simpo88uk, try national tourist offices for France and Austria, both in London. They'll definitely have stats galore but may not share them with you. I think Austrian tourism stats are a matter of public record but you'd need to find that in Austria. They show overnights and where the visitors came from.

Try this for Austria. The Stats are in German & your have to play around with the "fields" for the ski regions etc.
