Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Salamon Scrambler 22

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I have tried looking into this ski online to no avail.... Picked them up at a garage sale for a steal in great condition. I'm just wondering if they are suited to my
all-mountain intermediate level or if I should give them to my friend who is a beginner.

Thanks for your help!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Erin21, ....as carroz (hi) states, they are beginners' skis. HOWEVER....I have a lot of top end skis lying around but when mithering about which skis to use I almost invariable pass the Volkls, and Rossignols, and others and reach for a really ratty pair of Salomon Scrambler 400s which have been simply astonishingly reliable, predictable and good for my technique. They are much like the 22s in that they have a 69 waist. Ten years ago this would qualify as all mountain but now it would define a piste-only ski. But keep up the speed and you can use them all over the mountain. If you got them for a song, keep them, and if they're like mine, you'll get thousands of km out of them. Mine are now delaminating on one tail, have odd bits of metal spiralling off them - and I love em.

I suppose that it depends on the ability of the user. I had a pair of Scramblers a few years back. awful things. Confused They wouldn't do anything particularly well. I've been on Heads ever since. Madeye-Smiley
