May I be the first to ask if it is too soon to be worrying about the lack of snow for 2012/13?
And if so, please can you suggest something else I can worry about?

It was snowing in Bozel yesterday (that's at 850m, near Courchevel). The terrific end of season snow and the top ups that have fallen since then will likely have set up the skiable glaciers for an excellent summer season..

The webcams show that Tignes is all very white, with fresh snow. It was forecast to drop to -16C on the glacier over the last day or two!

Timberwolf, 96.7% of Northern Hemisphere resorts haven't even bothered opening. I'd suggest the ski industry is doomed.

sanman, I was skiing in a couple of inches of fresh snow in the Ciste basin at Cairgorm on Tuesday, and judging by the amount of snow there they'll still be skiing in June again this year.
I won't start worrying about next season until this one's finished !

If you REALLY want something to fret over for 2012/13 season, how about snow chains? That could keep you worrying for weeks....
