Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Best place to ski New Years EVE 2012

HI Snowhead people

Any ideas on where is best to ski for new year, high chance snow etc......

Austria. Somewhere like Bad Hofgastein. Good snow record, big linked ski area, shortish transfer, pretty village, nice hotels, big NYE celebrations with ridiculous quantities of fireworks.

On the downside - it's bl**dy cold (but you knew that, right?) and the slopes are often a bus ride and a cable car away. But that's the price you pay for pretty villages in the valley rather than concrete bunkers on the mountain Very Happy

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Or try a concrete bunker in France, Tignes will have skiing, the weather might stop you.

Val d'Isere the natural choice, high exchange rate against euro, easy to get too, there will be snow, good resort feel, every kind of Accom a premier resort .

St Anton is awesome at New Year. Ischgl was ace. Saalbach too. Probably most places tbh, though it's hard to beat Austria for a party.

Tignes le Lac, has a pretty good party on new year's eve. And the skiing is probably the best in the world as well.

St Anton is just too busy at NY. Murren, pretty high, and take part in the Scaramanga race on New Year's Day. Traditionally skied after an all night party and still in evening dress and ball gowns. Ski in pairs with both skiers tied together!!
