I'm amazed the euro has stayed so stable against the pound recently but rather reflects on the state of the UK economy. Can only dream of the 1.40 and over days. I'm still thinking the euro must go down substantially at some point. If Italy needs propping up to keep the ,politically motivated, euro currency going then it's surely got to give.

I wouldn't get too excited I don't think it will allowed to get too high. It reached 1.25 in September 2010 but not for long.

waynos, Euro going down is better for German exports! That's the problem Greece and the rest have at the moment. Currency is too strong and they can't devalue it so they're uncompetitive.
1.72? 2 seasons of that and I'll retire!

Hope it goes well.
Remember that the main thing to do for L3 is to eat plenty of biscuits, so you should be OK.
Good luck

17:57 CET, 10/11/2011 IMPORTANT UPDATE
The rate has fallen 0.7 pence in a mere half a day. If this rate continues, in approximately 85 days Sterling will be valueless compared to an infinitely strong Euro, and we're all going to die. Except me, because I'm paid in Euros.
In fact I'm going to buy you all as my slaves, for a meagre crumb, some time in early February.

Maybe by then the Euro rate will be like the Lira rate used to be - just don't ask me that is good or bad for the GBP

I should have waited till after the election to transfer £1000 to my French bank account, shouldn't I? That was really dim.

If it makes you feel any better, it has shifted about 0.03 in the last 6 months. That's £30. Another reason I get amused by people driving half an hour or making a special journey to get 1.20 vs 1.195 on their £500 holiday money.
