Anybody out there that wants to go to the French Alps the 28th of April for the last week of the season?
Likely resorts are Tignes, Val d'Isere or Val Thorens! (or anything you can think of!)
Snow looks good, and the forecast is for some more too!
Should be pretty cheap this time of year aswell.
Let me know what you think!

am in chamonix and snow is awful....slush and ice by 12pm and visibility poor. the resort is completely and utterly dead. dont waste your money this time of year. someone on here advised me against and wish now that id listened.....

I think it still can be good! i was in Tignes this time last year and had no problems with snow at all!

df78, only going for a long weekend , going solo but joining a three day off piste course , have you checked out some of the deals with mountain sun , great value

df78, be aware that the Dutch pretty much take over VT the week after the EOSB (ie the week you want to go). I skied on the Saturday after once - and the place went orange. They were not at all unpleasant - but if I were there for a week, I think would feel very much on the edge of what was going on, even if I were with friends. I think I'd go for Tignes in your situation.

michelle123, maybe a bad choice of destination then. There was a huge dump of snow in the Southern Alps yesterday, sadly Serre Chevalier will be closed by 28th April.

me and a good mate are looking at getting away on the 28th for a few days, coming home late tuesday 1st may. having real troubles booking stuff as no companies seem to offer packages late season.... apart from booking flights and a transfer and booking accomodation direct with the french (of which i speak none lol) any tips?

nick_w, try MountainSun in Tignes - they do short breaks including transfers, book your own flight. They are an English company

MattyAllen, yes i booked with MountainSun, three nights, three day lift pass, catered accommodation and airport transfers for £139 per person, just had to add flights on top. give them a shout mate see if they have anything left

Mosha Marc, Have a look at the Snoworks , three full days skiing inc accom lift pass all day tuition and transfers , last year we were off piste all three days
