Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Apologies if this has already been covered - but the 'search' function isn't working for me (probably my phone, rather than the website).
From memory French school hols start a little later than usual this year (around 16 Feb) - so am I right in thinking the first-half of Feb is a reasonable bet.
I've always made it a rule to avoid Feb skiing in France due to the sheer numbers on the slopes/queues - but the way school hols fall this time around, maybe this is the year to break the habit(?)

Yes - but it depends where you go. I'd avoid the big-name places with loads of british package holiday makers - when I've had the odd day in places like Tignes and Meribel, they always seem busy even in mid January. Not ridiculous, and not big queues - but still too busy for my liking. Depends what you are looking for.

Yes, you want to stay (and leave) before the 15th of Feb, or go after 15th of March. This is basically the school hols for the UK and France combined. We went to Morzine last year first week of Feb, and it was nice and quiet for the most part.
We have availability early Feb too
