Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

hi all.

i am about to buy a set of scott punisher skis.I am an advanced skier looking to get into freestyle but also want an all mountain ski.I am 5 ft 11 and weigh 90 kgs.
what size ski is more suitable 172's or 178's as i have found the 178's at a fraction of the price but dont want to compromise on the ski if it makes too much difference? Puzzled

Thanks, chris

You basically sound like me. wink

I'm same height, (almost the) same weight and I have Scott Punishers. Great skis. They will flap about as soon as you go quick but they are heaps of fun. Plenty of "pop" as well for freestyle (I believe that's how the kids describe it).

Crucially, I have the 172's. Now, they don't ski 172cm because they have tips at either end. So, with your fingers, make out around 6cm and ask whether it would really make all that much difference at the level you ski at. If not, you'll be fine with the 178's.

All, of course, in my humble opinion.

im about 65kg, 5'8 and I personally found the 182's to be the best size for me.
