Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Why do you like to ski off-piste?

Also your maths is bad - (6*4) * 7E-5 = 0.00168 (or 0.168%, or 1.68E-3)

I can think of a better way to spend five minutes, but not a whole day

gosh, rob@rar, a whole five minutes!! What if you're in a bit of a rush?

It's important not to rush the important things in life.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I've done about 50 weeks of skiing, mostly in France over the last two seasons 09/10 and 10/11, and have not once really skied on light/fluffy/deep powder. I've skied on deep heavy/wet fresh snow a fair bit, and shallow fluffy powder (a few inches). Feel like i've been missing out on something here!! Confused

I'm quite jealous and sketical of some people who've not skied much but claimed to have skied on powder as i've managed the best part of a years worth of skiing without encountering these conditions.

^ musehead makes a great point, I was surprised at how strong the perception of "off-piste=deep pow" has been in this thread. Off piste for me is moving through the terrain - ice, deep pow, downclimbing, hiking, roped up traversing, and everything in betwen, and indeed is one of the attractions for me - "can I move through the terrain & ski the conditions?"
