Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Looking for suggestions meat Montreal

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hello,

We'll be going to Montreal sometime during March Break and I thought about using the opportunity to also take the kids skiing on a mountain more interesting than the Southern Ontario hills we usually get to go to.

I looked at resorts within a couple of hours drive from Montreal and narrowed the list to the following Quebec resorts: Ski Bromont, Mont Orford, Mont Sutton, Owl's Head, Tremblant

Also, there are some resorts across the border, which require a longer drive (2-3 hours), in Vermont (Jay Peak, Bolton Valley, Smugglers' Notch, Stowe, Mad River Glen, Burke mountain , Sugarbush) and NY (Whiteface Mountain).

What mountain would you recommend for a family of advanced-beginner to advanced-intermediate skiers that would like a fun day on a good variety of mostly easy and intermediate trails, minimum "dead time" (waiting for lifts) and reasonable snow conditions for mid-March. We did ski on Tremblant several years ago and enjoyed it but the wait times were longer than we cared for.

Thank you for your advice!

Hi freeheelskier,

Thank you for your recommendation!

A couple of questions, since we've never been to Whiteface:
- How's parking?
- Is it packed on their "super sundays"? How about during the week? We're planning to go sometime near mid-March.

Thanks,
Alex.
