geeo, these are not standard machine screw taps.
The threads of all normal binding screws are ST5.5x1.8 (ISO1478). The 'ST' part stands for Self Tapping so taps are pretty hard to find outside skiing circles. The '5.5' part is the major diameter of the thread - i.e. 5.5mm and 1.8mm is the pitch. The nearest imperial equivalent is #12 type-AB (ANSI B 18.6.4) which is sometimes marked M5.3 x 1.81. This is so close that these taps are often used for skis.

carroz, details here.
Out of interest, what do you need it for? If you can get over to my place then you're welcome to use my stuff - I have a drill; collared bits; a tap; glue / epoxy; plugs; etc.

FlyingStantoni, Hi, that very kind, but i am not in les carroz at the moment, will be again in 4 weeks. I need it as moving bindings on my rock hoppers that have a metal top sheet and i find binding screws can go in at an angle with metal (happened before...oops) Thanks for the link, i could do with a tap anyway as i don't like self tapping screws self tapping much, too much to go wrong.
Also tried some s3's for 1/2 a day at 1/2 term, they were super brill so will wait until sales to get some.

Glad you enjoyed the S3s carroz
It's well worth getting stuff if you're likely to do things more than once. I bought a telemark mounting jig for NTN bindings, which cost me 35 euros and I've so far done 4 pairs for myself / friends - so it's earned its keep.
