Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Excellent job available in Verbier: Admin for Ski School

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Due to an unexpected change in family circumstances one of the ski schools in Verbier is in urgent need of a new staff member:

Arguably the best ski school.
Commercial Manager: Effectivly running the reservations and booking system, liasing with existing and potential clients.
Working out of the office and the ski-shop mini office that is used for walk-in and customer liason.
2 full days off a week
Plenty of hours available for skiing in the day, working hours in late afternoon and early evening are a must.

Pay will be in line with a proper job in resort....that is MUCH MUCH more than the chalet staff wages.

I am sorry but I do not know if you get a ski pass included (I forgot to ask)...you will be responsible for your own accomodation (but you will easily be able to afford it).
It will be a fully legal job with work permit etc all arranged for you.

You need to be outgoing, happy to interact with clients, organised and happy to make sales....and key that you will integrate with the rest of the team ( a smallish team, very nice people)

If you are properly interested please send me a PM and I will give you the contact details of the school manager.
Don't delay...this job is for ASAP!

I don't really know much more...all your questions can be answered by the school manager if you are serious.

To be clear: I have no financial interest, but I do have family links with the school.

It's on Facebook now; 2,000CHF per month plus lift pass - opportunities like this don't come along that often.

Sorry to put the downers on this, but if it really is only 2,000chf per month then that is well below minimum wage in Switzerland which is about 3500Chf per month. So this is not a real salary if what is quoted is correct. A lift pass cost 1000Chf for the season. I do not see how you can live off that salary if you must pay for your own place to live in Verbier. What is the facebook page so we can read the details for ourselves.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I hadn't realised Switzerland had introduced a minimum wage, I thought that was all still proposals and discusion.

fwiw lift pass is included.

There is no official minimum wage in Switzerland. There are local agreements between employers and unions, but nothing at the federal or cantonal level. There are numerous proposals in the offing, and there will probably be a national vote next year although some cantons are trying to take the lead already (eg Neuchatel). Figures of 20CHF an hour to 4000CHF a year have been mentioned. The offer of ~12.5 CHF an hour is far less than you would earn in most menial jobs in Switzerland.

It's one of these things tho, they are quoting a salary of 2000chf but not stating how many hours it is.

rungsp, so MUCH MUCH MORE isn't very much at all. I guess if it sounds too good to be true then it usually is.

emwmarine, eh "MUCH MUCH MORE" was compared to chalet staff wages which this undoubtedly is. accomodation is achievable for CHF 1000pm so this leaves you CHF1000 spending money a month. a job like this will involve lots of free meals and cheap/free socialising, you'll be well known around resort. you can bet ther'd be some free skis to use etc. For the right person this is a great job.

no connection to the job, in fact I used to work for their competitors Very Happy

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

For your example you'd only have CHF1000 spending money a month if there are no deductions for income tax, compulsory health insurance and other national insurances etc. Is that the case in Switzerland that there are no income taxes or compulsory insurances?
