Yep been down it - it's usually a big mogul field so not much fun on a board tbh - if you go to the left its usually better - drop off at start is steep but thereafter it's ok - just not much fun on a board (unless you like moguls!) - there's more fun to be had elsewhere in PdS!

It is kind of pointless on a board. The moguls are massive so you are really just dodging around them. You can either do this in a fairly cautious or fairly kamikaze approach. I tried both and didn't find either all that enjoyable. It would be hilarious if you fell at speed though because i reckon you'd slide for miles. lib-banana, speaks the truth.
Really all of the PdS is good for boarding. What are you interested in? With decent conditions there are fairly accessible off piste options. We were there in March last year and found untracked powder runs that only took a short hike. There are also good parks and some great board cross routes which go over the summertime MTB trails.

thanks for the post Not sure if i will even go down it to be honest, im not interested in ending for knees on moguls really, im just off on a trip with some friends and a couple of the skiiers are interested in doing it so i thought i would just ask about it in case im with them and want to go down it. Im primarily into off piste riding not huge on freestlye, but will go in the park every now and then for abit of fun:

The Swiss Wall is a tick-list run for people with pens, and lists and/or a need to tell others they've done the Wall. Nothing really to recommend it in itself unless you're in a rush to get down to that part of the PDS.

Traverse hard right above the cliffs at the top and you access a big powder field which is much more fun that the steep mogul piste IMHO

I've done it partially on a board, partially on my back bottom and partially on my face....probably in equal measures! Not much fun really, I agree with Milk, more of a tick list run.................

mally, first run of the season (i.e. first time it has been skied) in a couple of feet of powder, according to my brother (!), it's awesome...

I did it on skis years ago when my knees were up to that sort of thing. I don't remember seeing any boarders, but I was concentrating on staying vertical! I wouldn't have thought it would be much fun for you unless you are particulary keen on very large steep mogul fields. Plenty of other great skiing around Avoriaz - give that run a miss.
Alternately, sit in the bar at the top and have a good laugh at the numpties who feel they have to do it because "it is there". Some of them shouldn't be on a blue on their own, but feel it is OK to ski down something like that.
