Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Boot fit advice

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Reading the boot fit thread has made me think of my boots! And realising some people really know their shizzle, thought I would ask for advice.

I used to ski in some Sally Crossmax 10s with a zipfit liner with a footbed (fitted in Lockwoods in Leamington). Loved the boot and was tight yet super comfy and as the liner packed out, more oil/cork was added. I had these for two full seasons (skiing 4/5 days a week) and probably 3 years of 2 weeks a year after that - so 6 years/50+ weeks.

Then three years ago I bought the Sally Ghost, the one with two buckles and a lace up inner. I was wary of only two buckles but the fit was the best in the shop (again, Lockwoods) so went with it.

Have really liked the boot but as the inner has packed out a bit, they seem a bit loose. I would love to add a zippy liner but dont know how that would work with only two buckles.

Can I get away with adding a zippy? If not, any ideas how to tighten them up without having to wratch up the buckles too much.

Ta!

if the shell is a good size and shape then there is no reason why the zip fit wouldn't work, the more recent ones have laces and a power strap on them so will add a bit of support to the boot

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Cheers CEM. My only reference point to the zip fits are the ones I bought in 2002 so I guess they might have come on a bit since then. Will check it out with the shop.
