Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Protect personnel from highways

In 2011, 136 accidents involving teams from motorway companies have wounded 18 and caused the death of a patrolman. To significantly reduce the dangers faced by those men who ensure your safety every day, new measures are being applied.
Traffic on the hard shoulder emergency was already prohibited and punishable by removal of 3 points on driving license . Now, this offense will be punished by a fine of 135 euros instead of 35 euros (article R 412-8 of the Highway Code).
A new offense is created: in case of crossing or overlapping of the tape emergency stop (except when absolutely necessary of course). It is punished by a fine of 135 euros and the removal of a point on the driver's license (Article R 412-22).
When work is performed on the floor, teams neutralize some ways: specific signs warning drivers that it is forbidden to circulate. Now, in case of non-compliance with this prohibition to travel on closed road , the driver will be punished by a fine of 135 euros and a withdrawal of three points on his driving license (Article R 411-21-1 of Highway Code).

Measures that should encourage drivers to be more vigilant for the safety of all!

Encourage continued respect for speed

Another key measure of the decree: a ban on radar detectors , some drivers use to drive with impunity beyond the speed limit. It is now strictly forbidden to use the devices showing the location of radar. Since Thursday, January 5, 2012, the non-observance of this prohibition is punishable by a fine of € 1500, seizure of equipment and withdrawal of 6 points on driving license.

Please note that the law clearly differentiates between devices driving aid , which locate the vehicle, inform routes or traffic conditions and radar detectors . The 1st are allowed provided they do not include information on the location of a radar or a traffic stop. If this occurs, the updates provided by manufacturers will remove this functionality soon. However if your device driver assistance is not yet in compliance with the law, make the update as soon as possible!

Sanction the lack of vigilance

Finally, other measures strengthen the penalties for reckless motorists:
Using a hand-held phone by the driver of a vehicle in use is now sanctioned in a ticket for € 135 (instead of 35 €) and a withdrawal of 3 points (instead of 2) .
Using a screen (TV, game console, smart phone ... sometimes used by drivers when traveling!) driving is punishable by a fine of € 1,500 maximum (instead of 135 €) and withdrawal of 3 points (instead of 2), in addition to confiscation of the device.
