Poster: A snowHead
|
I have managed to negotiate an extra week off work 5th-9th March and am looking to get away to the Alps, although no plans made yet. Unfortunately, my normal ski buddies (friends and kids) are not free that week. Anyone else free or have a space in an existing group? I can travel on the Sunday afternoon and come back anytime the following weekend. No preference on resort (so long as it has plenty of snow!) or accommodation.
Ski level - comfortable on all pistes and way-marked off-piste. Happy to ski hard all day or take the more sociable route of lazy start, good lunch and an early beer. Personally - male, married, 40s.

No plans as yet. Innsbruck/St Anton? or Salzberg and a resort further east. Geneva/Chamonix or Avoriaz?

rednblack, have a look either at the UCPA website (they have English version) or at Action Outdoors, who market holidays at UCPA centres to people travelling from the UK.

French organization that does all inclusive kind of deals is the best simple description I can give. They are based in most big French resorts and their prices include (basic) accommodation, all meals, ski passes, half-time/ full-time/ no instruction and equipment hire. Flights and transfers to resort are usually organized by oneself. PM me and I can tell you more if you like. It might be worthwhile doing a search in the forum too.

Or my posts. I will give you more details If you are interested.

Hello and good evening.
Now this is an extra sort of suggestion as it is silly compared to alpes skiing. However since I'm not going to the Alpes this year I've been going to Milton Feynes SnoZone! Its quite fun and an alternative way to spend a saturday evening from 7pm tp 11pm. In short, I'd like a ski buddy for company, someone who's happy to go up and down the 170m long slope for four hours, get in some practice, and stop now and again for a chat during the evening.
I'm a 41 year old male who loves skiing and would like to leap from carving to spontaneous slick speedy turns and perhaps a few jumps!
Even if just the once, its quite fun at SnoZone.
Lots of other details about me available if thats important for you.
