Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

March 10-17 in Les Deux Alpes: "Cautious to Confident" gentle tuition

It's on again!

There has been a first week of C2C this week and the second one is as above. THere are still spaces at all levels and we'd love to see anyone who fancies joining us.

What is the week all about?

Well, in 2007 I had my first ski trip, aged almost 50. I'm not the fittest person in the world and even though I was totally hooked I was nervous and that stopped me making good progress. Not long after that I found SnowHeads and through it got to meet Charlotte (Easiski) who lives in LDA. I went out there for a summer week and discovered that she understood and was able to give me gentle and sympathetic instruction, with kicks in the bum when needed to help me push just beyond my comfort zone. We had a discussion as I felt that I couldn't be the only one in that position - and we decided to see if we could find others to join me for a winter week - we did and have arranged it each year since. We try to keep the cost down as much as we can, but keep the classes small (4 students) so there is personal support. We have a great social time too. What has worked really well is when couples come, one of whom needs the lessons and one doesn't. The more experienced have off together for some ski-fun some of the time, but also spent time with us when we're not in our lessons, encouraging us and giving us confidence to practice.

Here's what Charlotte says about the week:
C2C is a special week's course designed for the more nervous skier to build their confidence and progress their skiing. For many years I've specialised in confidence building, and particularly in older skiers who are unsuited to big group lessons with 'young gun' ski instructors or alongside many younger people. Such skiers are often made to feel inadequate, or that maybe skiing isn't for them, but this is not true.

The groups are:
Class 3 - either for people who can deal with blue runs but start to get nervous on reds, or for people who are still skiing 'old style' and need to update their technique to deal with modern equipment.

Class 2 - for people who can do a basic parallel, but are not happy off an easy blue run and will have a tendency to stiffen up once out of their comfort zone.

Class 1 - for slow improvers. Participants will be able to do snowplough turns and negotiate an easy blue run at slow speeds using snowplough turns and traverses
