Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Memmingen to Westendorf

We are a party of eight travelling from memmingen to Westendorf next Friday. Our plane lands at memmingen early evening. We would like to know if anyone knows firstly the best route to get to Westendorf ( presumably around Munich) and secondly any ideas of accomodation somewhere en route, as we dont think we would get to westendorf until very late and our hotel is only booked from the Saturday night. grateful for any suggestions you may have.

We're going from Salzburg Airport to Westendorf on Saturday, there are quite a few taxi firms and seem quite reasonable for private transfers if there are enough to fill the minibus (300 euros return), they are local firms so presumably would go to Munich too.

Thanks for that, sorry, i should have mentioned that weve hired a vehicle, my problem is finding somewhere to stay en-route as it would be too late if we drove direct to Westendorf.

jackfrost: I've just had a quick look, starting with Google Maps then Hotels.com.

A quick search on a place called Kaufering, half way between Memmingen and Munich, brought up a few possibilities at Hotels.com. Depending on how far you want to drive, if you search under Munich you will be spoiled for choice.

And if you sign up to Quidco.com you get 10% cashback on any Hotels.com bookings.

Alternatively, there's Laterooms.com - where you don't pay until you check out (only 5% Quidco cashback with them though!)
