When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

hi new to the forum

we are goin to avoriaz on the 31st of march for a week. any predictions what the snow will be like? looked bad last year but ive heard theres been a large snowfall already this year

No seriously, last year was a poor year for late season. We were in morzine in the 3rd week of march last year. Morzine was awful and basically un-skiable (rain and slush) where as Avoiriaz varied between reasonably good snow at the top and rain and slush at the bottom.

However every year is different - so who knows? There is a good base down and a bit of slush has to be expected for April, so keep your fingers and enjoy the trip.

We've skied as good a piste as you can ever see on April 28th.

Off piste really comes into its touring on after March.

It is likely to get softer in the afternoon but how else would you get lovely slushy bumps?
