Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Altibus Chamberry to Les Menuires

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
looking at the altibus transfer from Chamberry to Les Menuires the website says it takes 3hrs which seems a bit long for a 100km journey, Altibus also only change €50 return, any idea if the 3hrs quoted time is correct or will we hopefully get there a bit sooner?

Looks like they add an hour to the Saturday afternoon transfer. The morning transfer is only quoted as two hours, which is about right if the roads are clear.

Perhaps they add an hour for extra Saturday afternoon traffic, extra stops, or bus change at Moutiers.

Does it involve a transfer onto a different bus at Moutiers?

I don't know, it was a guess as to why they add the extra hour vs the two other scheduled transfers on a Saturday.

50 euros is a really good return transfer price, so you ca't complain if they do.

ah thanks, hadn't though of the extra traffic, is it really so busy going into the 3V on a Saturday?

I guess we'll just have to hope it's a quiet day!

I took the Altibus to Meribel from Geneva and if I remember rightly we changed in Moutier. Took forever but was cheap as chips.

I did some airport pick-ups out there and some Saturdays were a nightmare from Albertville onwards. During February, 6 hours (one way) was common from Geneva to La Tania.

We did Chambery to Val Thorens on the Altibus and had to change at Moutier both ways with a bit of a wait for all the buses to arrive, but I'm pretty sure that the VT bus went through LM... It's a bit of a scramble trying to find the correct bus for your resort but it worked out ok and was the cheapest transfer we could find at the time.
