Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski trip for a month with a Baby

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Mrs Simples and I are planning on flying off for the second half of March and first half of April with our 3 month old to ski. The current plan is to rent a ski-in / ski-out condo and - with a bit of luck - between us, the grandparents and perhaps a nanny agency, we will cover the childcare. For obvious reasons, we would like to be somewhere ski-in / ski-out with a proper supermarket and enough to do in the town or nearby to entertain the grandparents. But at the same time, we would ideally like good off-piste (our favourite resorts are Revelstoke amd Kicking Horse). At the moment, we are thinking of Whistler or Tignes. We would be really grateful for any suggestions or tips that anyone might have (and in particular if you have done such a trip yourself). Many thanks

Simples, If you can bear the flight I would say Whistler for sure. Much more to do for family with shops, markets etc. If you like Kicking Horse then you could consider doing two weeks in whistler and two weeks in Big White - again a super family friendly place but no where as big as Whistler. Great skiing there though among the snowghosts.
Good luck

Traditional advice is that Tignes is too high to be comfortable for a little nipper. Cold and windy too. And a hideous town for the non skiers.

Go low and somewhere relatively pretty with a big 'normal' town at the base. Megeve or Morzine sound about right if talking about France.

Simples, you're going to have to trade-off between access to good snow, and plenty of off-piste on the one hand, and a reasonable kind of place for everything other than skiing. Maybe there's somewhere which combines both in N America, but you'd struggle in Europe.

Chamonix is a good shout - a very good shout, for everything other than ski in/out. Much more agreeable place for looking after a baby than Tignes, that's for sure. I don't know Zermatt, but that might fit the bill too.
