Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

When my kids were about 6 and 8, we raced in -29 up on Forstau. There is a tiny two seater chair thats seems to take an eternity to reach the top, poor kids only had their lycra cat suits on, they were both in tears at the top , had to take them straight to the hut and give them a hot choc with rum Shocked

3/4 years ago in Banff went to get a bus to sunshine " Sorry sir no buses yet lifts are closed as temps are -42 and Gondola can not run" Shocked Got back to accomidation 5 minute walk and my beanie was frozen solid.

Eventually skied that they had sunshing practically to ourselved but due to my own stupidity grabbed my skis with no gloves on and the gap between my face mask and goggles acted as a trap for the cold. Ended up with slight frostbite on my hands and little more severe on my face. Had to get into a liftie hut to warm myself up! My face has never recovered Madeye-Smiley

Heading back again this year with lesson well learned. Stay in the hot tub when its -45

Warmed up, now -20C which is a huge huge difference and life can get back to normal.

Ice on inside of windows defrosting. Furnace can cope and the weekend is looking positively balmy at around freezing.

Canada went as low as -41c this week.

I have skied at -30c in France and -35c in Canada and it's chilly but doable.

alex_heney,

You obviously ski fast and induce a big wind chill!!

Not really. There was some wind as well as the low temperatures though.
