Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi,
A group of us are going to Saalbach on the 28th for a week, one of the group is a beginner Snowboarder (3 - 4 lessons on a dry slope). I am looking for a school who offer lessons for 3 days (full days preferred) and board & boot hire. Some of our group are attending Snow Academy ski school (beginner), they are providing 5 full days ski school and 6 days ski & boot hire for £180, which I thought was a good deal.
Can anyone suggest something which might suit?
Cheers,
Chris

Snow Academy have board instructors too. You should be able to negotiate how many days you want.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

DB, Fuerstauer (and as far as I'm aware Zink) don't have any board instructors.
Board AT (http://www.board.at/en/) are the only full board school in Saalbach, although as above Snow Academy have board instructors too.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I'll take your word for it. I just saw that they advertised Boarding lessons and had the links to hand so threw them up.

Cool thanks. Just had a look at Board AT - nice site. I just need to find out from them if they offer a full 6 days hire when only doing the 3 day course package.
Thanks for your suggestions.

As with fuerstauer, Board AT are partnered with the main Intersport in Saalbach (Intersport Bauer), and I'm fairly certain you can get lesson/kit packages.

I could be wrong about Zinc (I only know a couple of their instructors), so it's worth a check, but Fuerstauer for sure only teach skiing - although they have a 'notional partnership' with Board AT.

Board AT seems in effect to be Furstauer's snowboard school - they seem to exclusively refer clients to each other.
Snowacademy has an excellent snowboard programme - speak to Thomas and he'll fix the lessons for you. Snowacademy also has 3 hire shops that have snowboards and do 'hire-and-learn' packages similar to their ski packages.
Zink have at least 3 snowboard instructors, although they are really known for their very good private ski lessons.

quinton, do you know what the deal is with Fuerstauer and Board AT? I've never known them to have anything to do with each other, and the Fuerstauer's always seem to be in our office, so I can't imagine they're actually running Board AT... Do they own it or something?
Wouldn't have thought they owned it, they're busy enough with just the ski school and appartments!

clarky999, It's just my impression that they seem to work very closely together.
