Poster: A snowHead

Any Astra owners here? Will I get a pair or 174s in there (assuming they go between the front seats). Alternative is an Astra Estate. It's only me who's taking my own skis.
Cheers

How many in the car? People that is. I have successfully navigated round the French Alps with two and their (big) skis in an VW Polo. Wind the front passenger seat flat and the passenger sits behind the driver.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Why not just go for the astra estate, usually no extra. Also you never (hardly) get what you are expecting so with a station wagon you will always be okay regardless of what they provide you with.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

We've had Astras (saloon and estate) in the past and it works OK. Better with three in the car than four - that way you can fold 2/3 of the back seat.
It is also significantly better in a LHD hire car as usually the 1/3 of the back seat is behind the front passenger seat who can slide forward and have cramped feet to give extra luggage space.

Crell, Tie some cord across the front seat headrests and rest the skis on that and the rear parcel shelf. You will get a pair of 210cm skis in and still leave all four seats free.

Ditto the how many people comment. I've got an Astra which I drove myself out to the Alps in this season. Board bag (160cm) fitted nicely from the boot, thru the split rear seat and up to the back of the passanger seat (pushed forwards slightly). You should have no problems getting it in.
