Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Low cost, short break around 8th Feb anyone?

Hi all,

Trying to plan a trip around 8th-12th Feb to crest the peak season price hike. (Yes, I know that clashes with the S8BB, but a full week isn't an option for us otherwise I'd be there!)

No details set in stone yet, but the key plan is to get 3-4 days of skiing with travel, accommodation and lift pass for < £450 each. Self catering, so budget extra for food.

My current thinking is drive out on 8th, stopover near resort that night, arrive mid morning on 9th and hit the slopes.
Then ski through to end of play on 11th, leaving that night (before the slopes get busy from the holiday crew arriving).
Stopover somewhere cheap on 11th, and get back home on 12th.

Ischgl (Austria) is a possible resort at the moment.

Currently there's two of us interested, but there's space for 6 in the car (+skis/boards), and more people helps get the price down.

We are both early 30s, male, happy on any run and a bit of off piste (though not always in style!). He boards, I ski. Given it's a short trip, we'd be aiming to be out from first to last lift. Of course that doesn't mean everyone has to do the same though!
Love to join in some apres, but not to the extent it compromises the next day's skiing.

I'd be driving from West Berkshire via the tunnel, but my friend is driving here from Bristol. Could pick up people anywhere en-route, though it's easier packing the car if we meet in one place. (Or even picking up from an airport mid way (eg. Stuttgart) could be possible if flight times worked out.)

Any like minded folk interested in joining us please shout. As I say exact details aren't fixed - I need some commitment first.

Regards,
Graham

Hi, I'm potentially keen, short notice now, but could leave on the 9th? have you got anything booked yet?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Yes, sorry. Will be in St. Anton from Thursday. I could potentially offer a lift from Basel airport Wednesday night (BMI from Heathrow or Easyjet from Gatwick both have late flights), and a lift back to the UK Sunday night, but our accommodation is only for 2, so you'd have to find somewhere to stay. I expect the stopover hotels on Wed and Sun night will still have rooms, not sure about St. Anton on Thurs, Fri and Sat night though.
