Poster: A snowHead

Have an iPhone on 3 network. Silly question - does it cost me money to use GPS in Austria? Same question re Skiline. Have downloaded the app as Niederau is one of the resorts you can use it in. Or should I just let the Skiline thing work with the lift pass?

No data charges if using the gpa only. When you start viewing maps online it'll rinse it, however.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

It should just use GPS therefore no data charge.
As you are with 3 if you go to 'my3 account' on there website you can turn off international data roaming, so it blocks you from accessing the internet when outside of the UK.

I know alex_heney, but I was countering the ad mentioned by BB and as listed by nutwood.... But think the best you can get from a Iphone GPS app is about 7hrs good use then your battery is flat andthen you can only make emergency calls... my gps data logger works for over 15 hrs on one charge.

Using Ski Tracks and an iPhone4 recording GPS did not leave my battery flat after 7 hours. Generally it was still (just) in the green at the end of the skiing day so still a way to go before flat.
