Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Childcare in Whistler (Creekside)

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all....

We are off the Whistler in March, staying at Legends in Creekside specifically.

We have a 3 year old who we aim to get on skis and in ski school for some of the time. We also have a 16 month old.

Has anybody got any experience of taking small children there.....what's the ski school like for the 3 year olds - will it be too much for that age? Is it a good idea/value for money etc?

Also, what about the 16 month old.... I see the day care only seems to take from 18 months - does anyone recommend a good babysitting service in Creekside?

Any info on this would be most welcome. We've done a fair bit of searching, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of options.......so just hoping that someone on here has some good advice.

Thanks all.....enjoy the season.

Paul.

Hi Paul

Try babysittingwhistler. We used this company a few years ago when we over with our 18 month old daughter and her 3 year old friend. It was an Aussie nanny who came into the apartment each day to look after the girls. She stayed in for a bit, took them out to play in the snow and played plenty of games. Great service and we were not in the least bit worried about leaving the girls with a 'stranger'.

In Creekside there is an excellent ski school for kids that includes a small magic carpet uplift at the base of the Creekside gondola (directly across from Legends) form them to learn. We are certainly looking forward to our daughter using the service in the not too distant future.

BTW, Legends is a fantastic place to stay. We've stayed there and the sister apartment First Tracks a couple of times. Great location and (imo) the best way to access whistler mountain is from creekside.

Enjoy Dustys!

Hi Chunky,

Thanks for the info - that's exactly what i wanted to know.......just need a bit of reassurance that a nanny service is the way to go and that the kids will be safe and happy......

If anyone else has any experiences of this in Whistler with other services I'd be keen to hear.

Regards,

Paul

Pablo, We took Mouth Junior to Whistler when he was just three. He went to the Adventure Camp ski school and LOVED it. It is far superior to anything we have in Europe and have no hesitation in recommending it for the three year old. They take the kids up on the gondola every day to the kids centre at mid station where they are fed and watered.

The ski tuition was outstanding. Mouth Junior had learnt to ski in France a few weeks before we headed out to Canada and he improved dramatically that week. Even his french ski teacher noticed the difference on his return to France.

There is a tubing park in Blackcomb which is fun to do with the kids too. Hope this helps
