livetoski, I gave the gloves a spin in Schladming a couple of weeks ago. Little and third fingers got a bit cold after some fast laps, but easy enough to re-warm on the lift. Will give them a full work-out in PDS in two weeks.

shakeywith, thanks! Could you tell me how your stay in Brides Les Bains went and how good are skiweekends are?
I'm keeping options open for next year and noticed going by coach from London Victoria saves quite a bit of cash, are the coaches comfortable for someone over 6 foot?
I'm 6ft 3" & find the trip fine as I'm asleep most of the way. This is our 2nd trip with skiweekends & got another booked for end of February.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

There was definitely such a thing as too much smow today, it was fab though!! We spent the day in meribel and ended up getting the free bus back as they closed the lifts. Pity the poor people who had to get back to VT, at least we only had a 20min run back to la tania and the queue for VT/le men was loooong!
Woke up to some snow coming down with a lot more forecast with strong winds up high (see I have learnt a lesson and I now look at the forecast before i go out).
Planned to head up to the top of one of the mountains, do a red run with my son for a confidence booster, down a long blue, eat some lunch, meet OH & spend afternoon as a family on some easy greens.
Trip up the Tougnette Gondola & chair was ok but visibility on the gros tounge connecting run wasn't too good.

Wind starting to pick up so I thought we would go up the Granges chair, down the red Mouflon run out of the wind. My son didn't like the driving wind & snow (it was biting a bit) so I plonked him on the gondola down & met him in Meribel Mottaret.

A nice ski down the blue Sittelle & Marte runs and the visibility definitely better lower down.
Now it was time for the scariest ride of the entire break, the bus ride up to Mottaret. Wow these bus drivers can handle the snow really well in conditions that would bring the UK to a halt.
A quick ski down the green truite again, this time with the OH showing off her new skiing skills
Back down at Meribel & its 2pm. Both my son & the OH are tired and don't want to do any skiing but want me to carry on. I try and persuade them to come up the Rhodos bubble but have no joy so up I go, green rhodos run down to the lovely blue doron back to the waiting family.
Great day today, only 1 day left for this break. May not get to upload again until we arrive home.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

5 & last day
Ooops spoke too soon. Olympe gondola closed due to cable issues. Meribel snowed in & nothing open at 9am. Hotel reps tell us that all of the resorts have suffered from the snow drop last night.
Nice pizza in Brides-les-bains for lunch.
Alternative coach service promised for after lunch to take us up to meribel.
