TDC have opened there this year. Their other schools in Tignes and Val D'Isere are very good.

I don't think Dave is teaching with Sweet this season.

Conkie and Jeffers at BASS, Del and Nick from Marmalade, Jamie with TDC (he's already done at least one season as TDC in Méribel), or Dave Meyer - all lovely blokes and you won't go wrong with any of them.
With some of the bigger schools it's a gamble on who you will get, and Magic have sadly lost their reputation of late - might be because everyone seems to have left to set up their own schools...

We are looking to book lessons in the Three Valleys at Easter (we're staying in La Tania) for two kids 11 & 14 . Trying to decide between New Gen and Marmalade, anyone have thoughts on the relative merits of these two? Both seem to have good reputations, Marmalade are obviously smaller, maybe a good thing?

I spent a very happy morning today with Nick from Marmalade and am looking forward to three more mornings with him! I'm doing their all mountain class which is great value. They don't run all classes all weeks tho, so you'd have to check.
(Thanks to rob@rar and skimottaret for the recommendation)

Parallel Lines are the biggest all British Ski School in Meribel. They have all abilities running every week with small groups and a guaranteed British Instructor. Consistently great lessons.

Had an awesome week with Nick from Marmalade last week. It was an advanced/off piste course and I'm already enjoying the benefits of what I've learnt.. Also, had some great lessons with New Gen last season. Friends in resort have also been using Parallel and are very happy with the results.
Philpb - I would probably enquire with all 3 of the above and explain what you're looking for and make the decision that way. You may find that they're already booked up depending on what level you're kids are at. Either way I don't think you'll go far wrong with any of these.

I don't know about these people generally, but I've had lessons specifically with Angus Meldrum and think he's a very good teacher. |
Same company, had lessons with Nick - best instruction I've had, ever.

Another vote for Marmalade. we had a family lesson with Derek last season and we all took a lot away from the lesson. Visiting friends have also used Parallel Lines and been really pleased with the lessons with them.

planing a trip to Meribel next January and looking for a ski school for advanced/off-piste lessons. Used BASS in Morzine and TDC in Tignes previously and was looking at those schools based on previous experiences. Anybody used one of those and could share their experiences? TDC does not seem to be big in Meribel, while in Tignes and Val dIsere they are big schools and offer flexibility. BASS information for Meribel is also scarse ... it is a long time till January, but I like planing ahead.

I (?level 7?) have had "one to one" lessons with Jo Jo at Ski Marmalade which were very rewarding and to a high standard.
My adult daughter and boyfriend had group starter lessons with New Generation two seasons ago, that worked out pretty well.
These were supplemented by two * three hour sessions with Jo Jo at Marmalade this year.
I am confident that they can now go most places that have been pisted and a few places that have not!
